Hawaii Program

Established in 2010

Aloha OneWorld Now! - Hawaii

In the fall of 2010, OneWorld Now! launched our award-winning program outside of Honolulu in Oahu, Hawaii.  Thanks to generous funding from the Qatar Foundation International, our pilot program at Campbell High School was a great success and we are now in our second year of programming in Hawaii. OneWorld Now!-Hawaii is the first Arabic language program at the K-12 level in all of the Hawaiian Islands!  Our Arabic classes are being taught by Adly Mirza, Arabic instructor at the Hawaii Pacific University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Our key coordinating and leadership partner is the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council (PAAC).   Like OneWorld Now!, PAAC is committed to “building bridges, inspiring young leaders, and developing global citizens.” Natasha Chappel, the High School Program Director for PAAC, is our lead facilitator for our leadership workshops.
